PU insulation panels are also known as PU sandwich panels. This is an insulation material made from color-coated steel and Polyurethane. The PU layer is usually about 50 ÷ 150mm thick. The color-coated steel layer covering the two outer surfaces is usually 0.45mm ÷ 0.5mm thick.
Currently there are 2 main types of PU panels:
- Regular PU sheet: Density is about 40kg/m3, fire resistance depends on PU density.
- Fire-resistant PU panels (at level B2): Density is about 40kg/m3 with a fairly high fire-resistant ability. Suitable for projects with high sound and heat insulation requirements along with strict requirements on fire prevention.
Basic structure of PU sheet
PU panel consists of 3 layers:
- Top layer: Made from aluminum-zinc alloy and color-coated steel. Can be antibacterial, anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion with an average thickness of 0.4mm - 0.6mm. The thickness of this steel layer depends on each function of the project to be able to choose the appropriate PU type.
- Middle layer: is a foam layer, has the effect of heat insulation, sound insulation, fire resistance and is especially light weight, helping to save costs and construction time.
- Bottom layer: Similar to the top layer, the bottom layer of the PU panel is also made from color-coated galvanized steel and aluminum-zinc alloy to help prevent corrosion and oxidation extremely effectively.
Why are PU panels widely used in construction?
PU insulation panels have many outstanding advantages compared to other construction materials such as:
- PU insulation panels help to prevent heat, sound and fire very effectively.
- PU panels are used as reinforcing materials for ceilings and walls to increase the durability of the construction.
- Save costs for all projects during construction and use.
- The product is highly safe, environmentally friendly and does not affect the user's health but still ensures high aesthetics.
- PU panels can be used for projects with weak foundations, meeting the needs of building large or narrow spaces.
Practical applications of PU panels
PU Panel can be used for both civil and industrial works such as:
- Making construction materials for projects that require the use of lightweight materials.
- Building industrial zones with insulated panels such as: cold storage, cool storage or freezer.
- Use PU panels to assemble temporary structures: construction site management house, expert control room, etc.
- Building cold rooms for pharmaceuticals, medical, handicraft warehouses, operating rooms, food warehouses, etc.
Notes when choosing PU panels suitable for the project
To be able to choose the right PU panel for the project, you should note a few things below to have the best choice.
- Understand the exact requirements of the project
Currently, there are many types of insulation panels with many sizes, parameters and diverse colors. Each project will have different structures and requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to choose the PU panel suitable for that project to avoid future errors.
- Regular price updates
Price is what we all care about when choosing to buy any product. The price of PU insulation panels will depend on many factors, so prices can change frequently. You can refer to the price on the website or contact the seller directly via phone number for more detailed advice.
- Be careful with cheap goods
Currently, the market is flooded with cheap products of unknown origin and without quality control documents. These products are sold at much cheaper prices than the original price and do not guarantee quality. Therefore, customers should be careful and evaluate carefully before purchasing to avoid affecting their projects.
- Choose reputable, branded suppliers
For more peace of mind and certainty, you should choose to buy insulation panels from major brands, at reputable addresses. To avoid buying fake and poor quality products and to buy at the right market price.
