This product can mix many colors in the Jotun Industrial Automatic Color Mixing System. Note that there may be slight color deviations when changing the curing agent.
Used for iron and steel in locations where bead blasting cannot be applied or for surfaces prepared by ultra-high pressure water washing. Can be used alone or in combination with other primers and topcoats. This paint provides excellent corrosion resistance in both seawater and freshwater environments. If exposed to sunlight, there is a possibility of chalking.

Surface Preparation
The surface must be clean and free from contaminants. The surface must be treated according to ISO 8504.
Untreated steel surface
Cleanliness: Clean the area with a mechanical machine to meet minimum standard St 2; no rolling scales are left (ISO-8501-1:2007). Higher surface preparation (blasting to Sa 21⁄2) will increase the effectiveness of the paint film. If applying the Super High Pressure Water Blasting method, the cleanliness level must reach at least moderate level according to SSPC and NACE standards.
Suitable temporary anti-rust primer surfaces must be clean, dry and undamaged.
Old painted surface
The appropriate anti-rust coating must be clean, dry and undamaged. Please contact Jotun for further advice. When applying maintenance paint, the surface can be prepared by super high pressure water spraying to level WJ2 (NACE No.5/SSPC-SP 12) or cleaned with a mechanical machine to meet minimum standards St 2 for the area. rust area.
This type of paint can also be used on other types of surfaces. Please contact Jotun office for more details.
Conditions in the Jotamastic 90 industrial painting process
The minimum surface temperature must reach +5°C (standard) (-5°C for WG) and must be at least 3°C higher than the dew point of the air, ambient temperature and humidity measured at the site. area around the surface. When applying in a closed area, there must be good ventilation to ensure the drying/curing process.
Surface preparation by Ultra High Pressure Water Spraying will create a damp surface. The ambient humidity should not exceed 85%. Before painting, the surface should not be completely covered with moisture, only streaks are acceptable.
Use high pressure paint machine
Brush Only used when applying paint and painting small areas, care must be taken when painting to achieve the specified dry thickness.
Roller Can be used for small areas but should not be used to apply the first coat of anti-rust paint , take care while painting to achieve the specified dry film thickness.

Note
*The temperature of Jotamastic 90 paint after mixing must reach at least 10°C. If lower, it is necessary to add solvent to ensure the paint has appropriate viscosity.
* Adding too much solvent will reduce the flow resistance and slow down the curing time of the paint film.
* Only mix solvent after thoroughly mixing the two paint components.
Special Note for the US Market: When applying in the US, use Cold Climate Curing Agent only when the temperature is below 15°C. Reason: The standard curing agent has been modified to meet local laws.
1. The earliest possible time at which the paint film can withstand light mechanical impact such as walking on the paint film.
2. This is the earliest time for recoating with the same type of paint. Note that at this point, the paint film is not hard enough to withstand mechanical impacts or for moving/transporting.
3. To achieve the best adhesion, the paint surface must be clean and free of chalk before coating and when applying the next layer before the paint film is completely cured. If the paint film is exposed to direct sunlight for a certain period of time, care should be taken in cleaning the surface and removing or sanding the hard surface layer to achieve high adhesion.
The above parameters are for guidance only. Actual drying time before applying the next coat may be shorter or longer depending on the paint film thickness, ventilation, underlying paint system, requirements for early assembly transportation, etc. Drying time for a complete paint system is mentioned in detail in each separate system table, which has been calculated including the parameters and specific conditions.
